END OF YEAR ARRANGEMENTS FOR YEAR 11, 12 & 13
Important dates and arrangements for your daughter are shown below.
Classes continue for all senior students until 5.35pm on Wednesday 9th November.
EXAMINATIONS
NCEA examinations begin on Thursday 10th November. Examination entry slips will be issued at an assembly on Friday 4th November. These are essential for entry to examination rooms. Students should also have an ID card.
Please check that your daughter knows the date and time of her examinations and arrives at Burnside High School in plenty of time. Morning exams begin at 9.30am. Afternoon exams begin at 2.00pm
Students in Years 11 and 12 must wear full correct summer uniform, including brown school shoes or sandals.
BUSES FOR NCEA EXAMS
The following buses will leave at 8.15am daily. They will get students to school in time for morning examinations and will follow the same routes as shown on Ministry of Education website.
Brookhaven / Queenspark (one bus)
AGHS site (three buses) Linwood Avenue
Kerrs Road (two buses)
There will be no buses at the end of morning exams. Students sitting afternoon examinations will be able to use our existing school bus service.
PRIZEGIVING
Senior Prize-giving is on Friday 4th November at 6.30pm. All Year 11 prize-winners and all Year 12 and 13 students are required to attend.
Parents of prize-winners are invited. School will finish early this day at 5.15pm and buses for students not attending prize-giving will leave at 5.30pm.
We have arranged with the canteen manager to provide a sausage, fruit and a drink, free of charge, for all students attending the prize-giving.
Buses will be supplied to transport girls to The Palms at the conclusion of the prize-giving.
TEACHER ONLY DAY
The Board of Trustees has approved a Teacher Only Day for Thursday 10th November 2011. This is a professional development day for all staff.
With the exception of NCEA Level 2 English, Scholarship Drama and Scholarship English candidates, students are not required to attend school on that day. Supervision will be provided in the school library for any student who attends. Please ring the School Office if your daughter requires supervision.
SENIOR LEADERSHIP DAY – Thursday 1st December
Year 12 report to the Hall at 1.00pm. Wear mufti – comfortable clothing, gym footwear.
BOOK COLLECTION - Thursday 1st December
Students are required to report at the following times, and will be released on completion of the book return process:
1.15pm Year 11 students
2.15pm Year 13 students
4.00pm Year 12 students, after the Leadership Programme.
When your daughter has returned all her books she will receive her magazine, certificates and testimonials (where applicable). Please remind your daughter that all sports uniforms and physical education gear, all subject fees and all library books must be handed in and/or paid for before she leaves.
