Avonside Girls High School PTA is made up of a small group of hard working and efficient parents. We are all busy people so we try and keep our meetings short and to the point but also enjoy a bit of fun. Our aim is to organise fundraisers or activities that all of our students benefit from.

We usually have 2-3 major things every year and we are also asked by teachers from time to time to serve supper after a function which is held at night by the school.

As our children move through the years at high school so do our members and this last year has seen a drop in numbers on our PTA. We are desperately seeking more members. It is a great way to have involvement in your daughter’s school and to get to know the teachers and the principal.

So come along to the next meeting:

* meet 1st Monday of every month 7pm( try to stick to one hour meetings) held in the meeting room.

* AGM has been held and it was great to see some new faces.

KEY FEATURES THIS YEAR:

* Year 9 & 10 Dance with Shirley Boys to be held at Avonside

Thursday 18th March, 7.30pm-10pm

*  Years 9&10 dance is all go for Thursday 18th March. A notice and permission slip will go out to form classes shortly.

* Workday will be held on Monday 17th May which is also the Teacher Only Day.  Please encourage your daughter to go out and find some work as all the money that is collected will be spent on the girls and things that they want.

There will be a short meeting on Monday 29th March 7pm in the meeting room just to talk about the workday. Everyone is welcome, new members as well.
There will  not be a meeting in April due to Easter and the holidays.
