COMING EVENTS:
Come and hear motivational speaker Margaret Ross, "Surviving the Teenage Years'.
Monday 5th September, 7.30pm at Burnside High School, upstairs in the Admin Block (free of charge).
Margaret is highly recommended so don't miss this opportunity.
The PTA AGM was held at Burnside High and the following were elected:
Chairperson: Adrienne Wyatt
Sue Crampton will continue as Treasurer and Secretary until someone else puts their hand up.
We had a small number attend the AGM but it was a great meeting. Two Burnside PTA ladies came along to support us and to talk about what they do at their meetings. It was very interesting and they tend to have a calendar of events that they advertise on their website. Their meetings are very short then they finish off with a speaker and invite the rest of the parents to come and listen.
Please feel free to contact us if you wish to join the PTA. Remember, you can
make a difference, but you need to get involved, especially with your children.
Kind regards.

Avonside Girls High School PTA is made up of a small group of hard working and efficient parents. We are all busy people so we try and keep our meetings short and to the point but also enjoy a bit of fun. Our aim is to organise fundraisers or activities that all of our students benefit from.
We usually have 2-3 major things every year and we are also asked by teachers from time to time to serve supper after a function which is held at night by the school.
As our children move through the years at high school so do our members and this last year has seen a drop in numbers on our PTA. We are desperately seeking more members. It is a great way to have involvement in your daughter’s school and to get to know the teachers and the principal.
So come along to the next meeting:
