House Events

The House spirit at Avonside is alive and kicking! Every year we have a number of House activities which involves fierce competition and rivalry as students and staff compete to win the House shield. Avonside has 6 Houses each with a distinctive colour.

They are named after some of our first Principals.

• Gresson House – purple
• Karsten House – yellow
• Samuel House – orange
• Stevenson House – green
• Townsend House – blue
• Williams House – red

House Orientation 2013
The 2013 House events calendar kicked off with a hiss and a roar at the start of the year with House orientation.  Students and staff played a series of games and practised their House chant.

The 2012 winners of the overall House competition was Williams House.

The 2012 House competitions have so far included the school swimming sports, the full school athletics day, Pavement Art, Tug of War and the latest event on the House competition calendar, the Great Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt.
