Avonside celebrated Samoan Language Week 30 May -3 June. Students taught staff Samoan words to use in classes, and activities were held each lunch break for staff and students to get involved with. These included students teaching and performing a short dance, teaching of a Samoan hymn and singing a Samoan song. Seki!

We also had a Pasifika community Liaison come in and run a workshop for our year 12 and year 13 students.  At that workshop we went over the importance of palu ava and what it means to Samoa.
