Nine Year 10 girls enjoyed the day at UC and Jessica Spackman and Kate Harden won both the Canterbury and New Zealand competitions!! A huge success 👏👏👏The Programming Competition For Girls, is a national competition that was held at Canterbury, Otago, Victoria and Auckland Universities in mid November. Nine Avonside girls attended. It was super exciting to be on campus at Canterbury in one of their large computer labs. The energy with 60 students from Christchurch, Ashburton and Tapawera was palpable! A massive congratulations to Alisha Mill who won GOLD at the National Championships for Boccia!Alisha won all 3 games she played in groups and then went on to win the Semi Final which led her onto the Gold & Silver match. She went on to win the final 5-2 and brought home the gold medal. At the prizegiving she was also awarded the Junior Boccia Player of the year! We are extremely proud of her efforts
